a ramble.

come take a stroll with me through the past little time here at Rasing Hope Ranch. each day seems to throw something different at miss sam & i & i love it. i like to tell people when asked " we will be where we are told & we will do as they say" its just how it is :)

saturday the 15th. miss sam has journeyed away to a wedding & i slept in. i really was happy about that. house cleaning here at rachel street & a groccery list prepared. miss sharon & i headed off to Siloam Springs with the thoughts of lunch. living in a land of yummy ' fast food ' keeps decisions difficult. panda express was the definite winner for today. i think miss sharon & i laughed about 1/3 of our time spent in walmart. i never knew some cleaning supplies could smell so bad! 3:00 was rapidly approaching & we needed to get to the ranch. mr dougs are in charge saturday afternoons. one mentor stays around & the other 2 are free to go have down time. i stayed with mr dougs. the ranchers & i got to swim together for a long while & then we all loaded up in mr. dougs ranger for the 'fun activity' . we found a spot at the creek about 10 minutes away to wade in & just relax. pie irons around the fire. showers. a rowdy few rounds of spoons & some  singing. everyone seemed to be exhausted from the days happenings & it was time for prayers.
evening prayer at the ranch are called circle prayers. & it is just that. we all sit down on the living room rug. one girl starts & each girl prays until we reach the end. hugs & goodnight. the girls are in their bedrooms by 8:00.

sunday was nice. i was lonesome for home a bit this day. sundays seem to do that to me. lunch at the ranch & then i got to go help the youth girls make cheesecake for teacher's prep. youth at mr. todds after a ce program.

a new week dawned & we were ready for it. i think.

.a day at the ranch for miss samantha & i starts with arriving at about 6:45. the girls have had room checks & are in the process of finishing up bathroom time. by 7:00 we are in baby truck & headed 'downstairs' what we call the barn & hay field at the bottom of the hill (what is pictured above). ms. sharla has arrived by then & is in charge. morning chores are completed & horses are brought in to be groomed & prepared for horsemanship. horsemanship has been a highlight for me. my partner in crime is the lovely red roan brandy. we have become fast friends. 9:30 breakfast. everyone brings a verse from their personal devototions & it is shared at the end of the meal. breakfast is served the same as any other meal as i explained previously. dishes & morning chores. 10:30 book study. currently we are reading you'll get through this-max lucado. it is really good. mr. doug begins by sending each rancher to a reading spot & when enough time has past he rings a giant bell & we meet on the back porch. everyone shares their take away from the chapter. i find this time inspiring. we have made it to 11:00 & we really like to stay busy. now would be the time we may do more horsemanship, watch a horsemanship dvd, watercolour, colour, or anyother random thought up activity. 12:00 is lunch. if we did horsemanship 12:30. on our nice hot sunny days after lunch is the most perfect time to take a dip in our refreshing pool. great fun. if the weather says no to swimming the girls go to quiet time at around 1- 1:30. usually after some kind of movement/exercise. this is where i loose track for miss sam & i have been coming home to watch training videos & rest. at 4:30 the ranchers go down for evening chores. supper at 6. evening routine. showers & talking, singing or a game sometimes. prayers & goodnight.

miss sam & i have been involved a bit more with some random activities here & there with the girls.
monday morning the mentors had therapy & we got to spend time with the ranchers & some colouring books. a little later miss sam & i took a walk with 2.
friday the heavens opened up & we received a rain storm. horsemanship was postponed to the afternoon. miss sharon offered to make lunch & miss sam & i joined the girls at the table to do some scrap booking. i brought my book to try to begin a memory book of types but i really didn't get anywheres. we had a huge time block to fill so we ended up reading some dr. suess out on the front porch.

monday - wednesday evening mr. dougs & miss sam & i had LOM training zooms to attend. Living with an Outward Mindset from the Arbinger Institute. the book anatomy of peace  was at the base of the training. i ended those evening with a very full mind. things like collusion diagrams & boxes that we carry & influence pyramids & resolving collusions & much more circle through the brain as the head is laid to rest upon ones soft pillow. it was good.

tuesday is our day off at this house. the ranchers have therapy so there is no need for us to be at the ranch. it oddly feels like saturday when you awake in the morning & kind of makes the week feel all off wack. this past tuesday miss sam & i finished a karen purvis dvd, watched some truefaced with mr. dougs & then decided on an afternoon adventure. into rogers we drove. i decided i liked the feel of this town. after a target stop we needed some coffee. we have been asked multiple times if we had been to onyx coffee yet. our answer has been no & i have always wondered why is this a must go to place. well i was about to find out & goodness it passed my expectations. good vibes & exceptionally tasty coffee.

thursday late afternoon after authority meeting i was made happy when hearing that we had permission to attend the teacher prep program. there was a soul or two attending  i was hoping to see, but i though it would not be possible. well it was possible & so enjoyable. as we were escorting our little silver van home a lovely armadillo had been making plans of visiting dollar general. unfortunately for him he never was able to fulfill his promises to his neighbor of delivering a fresh bag of crunchy bugs. may he rest in peace.

one never knows what will happen in a day. i just know that without prayer this work here would be impossible. "we are actively at war with the devil as we fight for these girls"  this point was brought up during one conversation & it has stayed with me. prayer is our answer here at the ranch for without God hearts cannot be healed.

continue to pray
until next time
miss tif.
