home for me.

i breathe in the crisp mountain air. i look around & there i am back in my valley home.
i hug mom & dad & we drive to our home on schubert road. it feels funny to be here.
jake & nita. & of course the little smush. ezra james.
the most wonderful two weeks had begun .

now, a trip report style blog might be what you read this time & i will try not to bore you.

i find ms. jenna on monday. we go to salmon arm for lunch. & hike up to some waterfalls. take a trip into canadian tire. grab coffee. walk the warf & talk a WHOLE lot. being with a person that knows the ranch is just good. we sit by the fire for supper this night. eat hamburgers. & life makes me smile.

a lot of sitting happens. nita & little ezra make their way to our house every day.
we work at bringing the sourdough starter of nita's back to life. & we bake bread. we do some sewing.
i get to hold ezra. A LOT.
we sit by the fire. eat roasted marshmallows.  & to be home just feels nice.

on thursday we get new chickens. so i go to the barn & we begin unloading the lovely hens into their new home for the next year. those unaware we have a barn full of laying hens. i just happened to be home over bird placement so i got to help for the first time in a few years :) lots of memories from the early years of chickens came flooding in & mom & i had some good chuckles.

you only live once. be spontaneous.
when your best friend that teaches 6 hours from your home asks if we should meet at a little cabin in the woods. say yes. july was a long time ago & it was time to see eachother again. so a tiny little cabin named wolf's den in golden was rented. back in the woods next to a wolf sanctuary the little red cabin was very quickly filled with laughter & chatter. pasta was made & a little fire was lit. & it was good.
as darkness set in & the rain hit the roof we were able to experience the sound of wolves. a memory that will not be forgotten. saturday was filled with pancakes. book stores with coffee shops. & indian food. then good bye. until sometime in the W A Y far future.

it felts as though time in these mountains was just running away so quickly.
i sit with charlie my old & faithful dog friend.
i drink coffee out of my yellow cup because its my favourite.
buy donuts at tim hortons
& eat my favourite foods at boston pizza.
watch the cliffs turn pink at sunset
& talk late into the evening.
life was good.

we journey to doyle's on the 3rd & it is just the best to see the littles again.
a weekend here was just very nice.
alex had his birthday sunday & so gifts were opened before church.
turning 8 is a big thing :)
& i flew away from boise sunday afternoon.

some asked how much more time here at the ranch?
the answer.
five months.
five months to live this life at the ranch. to take in each moment & to love it.

we are back into the ranch life. the girls have returned & another session has begun.
continue to pray

until next time.
ms. tif.
