t w o - w e e k s

this is different. . . 

kind of like a journal. hopefully not too boring :) 

may 6 . day one back at the ranch. i feel tired from traveling & the time zone travelling has me feeling all funny. waking up this morning was a trial but it was a good day. while away from the ranch some fun upgrades happened. like the porch behind our mentor bedroom was screened in & hooks were hung so our hammocks can be stretched out & we can enjoy the evenings of north west Arkansas without the bugs. it feels as though our room has been expanded. now if only we had that espresso machine back there too. . 

may 7 . now this feels funny. my off days our now tuesday + wednesday so, after one day back at the ranch i am back at rachel street. i sleep a lot this tuesday. also find myself at pour jons in the afternoon to write on my blog. the gentry youth is playing softball at the park. i do not love this game yet i want to go & be around the people for a little while. i arm myself with a few boxes of walmart donuts & stay a little until the mosquitoes try to carry me away. 

may 8 . pour jons. this place really has become my place. ms. jera & i journey there again wednesday morning :) & enjoy waffle wednesday. the day where their delicious waffles are only 2 dollars. we talk & laugh in our corner maybe shreek a little. i think people around us might think we are a little crazy but we really do not care. i spend the rest of the day just relaxing until it is time to pick up the other mentors for our wednesday evening supper together. on the way to siloam springs the heavens open up & it R A I N E D ! we enjoed yum mexican food & did our traditional run through walmart. 

may 9 . the day at the ranch was pretty typical. one of our ranchers parents came for their 3 day stay & so it was kind of different having another set of people following us around. i sit in on school in the morning. after 2 french presses are made we authorities jounrey out to the school room to have our thursday afternoon meeting named. authorities meeting. this is a time of mcuh talking. laughing. planning & bunny trails. i always leave feeling very lucky to be a part of such a great team. 

may 10. its a typical friday here at the ranch. not much happens. at school ms. jera had some fun art planned which involved the laminator & dried flowers. the first page sent through quite literally dissappeared so i got to see what the inside of such a device looks like. &today the pool was opened ! our rancher & her parents made supper for us & we had a very relaxing evening. 

may 11 . we sleep in on saturday morning. the girls are ready by 8:30 & we begin by heading down for chores. the birds were singing. the creek running & it was a good morning to be outside. ms. katie made a yum breakfast which we ate outside on our back porch. cleaning began. while ms. katie & the girls cleaned the main part of the house i cleaned our mentor quarters. these last 3 days i have been feeling unwell so i kind of moved at a slow pace. the girls & ms. katie took the first swim in our pool o what fun. ms. katie went off duty late afternoon & i was in charge with mr. todds & mr. dougs. a round up happened & a problem was aired & shared. the rest of the evening was filled with a lovely time around our fire eating hot dogs & roasting marshmallows. 

may 12 . happy mother's day . i make blueberry scones for breakfast. then off we go to church. we go after sunday school & file on to the first long bench known as the ranch bench. & there we sit mentors & ranchers with our notebooks ready to take notes :) lunch is at mr. todds. mr. dougs join us & so do mr. todd's folks mr. dannys. ms jera lives with mr. danny's so she too was there. we sing a song or two & then we head back to the ranch for naps. we like our sunday afternoon naps. i pull out leftovers for supper & the evening is spent watercolouring at the table. 

may. 13. hello johny & amy & dawson & sadie. i think i am the most lucky girl :) to have my sister & her family here at the ranch seeing how life happens is just the best. the rain stopped just moments before horsemanship so we actually could be outside. i wanted johny's to be able to see the work that happens down at the arena. we tour around. lunch is served & the rest of the day keeps on. i get off early & we go eat pizza in siloam springs & then hang out at the rachel street house. i hold sadie :) it made this auntie very happy to meet this little one. 

may 14. off to rogers. onyx coffee here we come. we sit there for quite some time sipping on our coffees, chatting & munching on over priced macrons. amy & i have great fun browsing through the antique store & buying things at target :) then we head back to rachel street for the kids naps. amy & i leave johny & dawson & find ourselves with sadie at two more antique stores in siloam springs. then we must get ready for supper at Jeremy & Randolyn's. o what a fun evening with laughter & good conversation. 

may 15. they leave me at noon. after we went to one more antique store.... are we obsessed? :) i go to the house & sit & take a nap. us mentors go to panda express for supper. we like this place alot :) & then since the weather is gorgeous it is off to pure joy ice cream downtown where we find yum icecream & walk in the park. 

may 16. we go to the gentry school program tonight. this made my teacher heart happy. also made me miss it incredibly more than i ever thought i would. we get oreo sonic blasts on the way home & off to bed. 

may 17. just a normal day that ended with me making pizza for supper. 

 & the days keep on but i am going to stop there . . .
